Things to Do

State Street

State Street is the heart of Santa Barbara. You'll find plenty of restaurants and shops to explore while you're in town!

Stearns Wharf

Stearns Wharf is Santa Barbara's most visited landmark. Located at the beginning of State Street, it's the perfect spot for beautiful views of the Santa Barbara coastline.

The Funk Zone

Home to craft breweries, art galleries, and trendy restaurants, the Funk Zone is a Santa Barbara hotspot. It is also home to the Urban Wine Trail, which consists of 20+ tasting rooms highlighting Santa Barbara County wines.

Whale Watching

The Santa Barbara Channel is home to more than 30 species of marine mammals and sea birds that visit throughout the year. Blue whales and humpback whales migrate through the Channel from May through September, and you're also likely to see pods of dolphins, sea lions, and seals on your trip!

Outdoor Activities

Santa Barbara experiences a warm-summer Mediterranean climate, which means you can play outdoors all year round. Rent a kayak or stand-up paddle board, hike Inspiration Point (among many others!), or play volleyball on East Beach. Rincon Point is a short drive and home to one of California's best surf spots. We also LOVE Miramar Beach, which can be accessed from a footpath on San Ysidro Rd.

Santa Barbara Mission

Founded in 1786, the Mission is one of the city's oldest landmarks and a great spot for photo ops.

Santa Barbara Botanic Gardens

Open every day from 9am - 6pm, the gardens feature 78 acres of native Californian flora and vegetation.

Art Walk

Held every Sunday, the art walk features dozens of local artists and is located right next to Stearns Wharf.

Santa Barbara Zoo

Located on 30 acres near the ocean in Santa Barbara, California, the zoo has been ranked numerous times as one of the nation's best small zoos.

Harbor Seal Preserve

The Harbor Seal Preserve is home to almost 100 adult seals who give birth to their cubs on the Carpinteria shoreline. You can follow a half-mile footpath that leads down to the bluff (after taking the Bailard exit from the 101 fwy).
